What are you turning when you go through the traps RPM wise? I am currently running 275-60-15s with 3.73 rear end gears and a turbo 350 with a 3500 stall and I am at 5400 RPM going through the traps. To this point my best has been 11.93 at 114 mph with BFGs. These tire are now 9 years old they still have a little tread but I feel they have out lasted there time.

I was turning around 5500-5600 when I had my best runs at Cecil county. I was running almost 111-112 MPH. That is with the 26" tall 275/50-15's. It's really hard to tell exactly what your RPM's are going across the finish, but that's my best guess. I think the 275/60's might be better for me. The 118 cam makes peak HP around 5200.

I thought I was the only one too scared to look at the tack then

  Not really scared, but it's hard to know exactly when you cross the end of the track, and then be able to look at the tach and guestimate where the needle was exactly. With 26" tires, 3.73's, and a speed of 112 MPH, the RPM's with no converter slip should be 5398 RPM. It was definitely 5600 or so as near as I could tell.
