Drill Bits for Spot Welds

    Can someone tell me where I can find drill bits for drilling spotwelds?

    An autobody supply store should have what you need. I use a 5/16 spotweld remover aka holesaw.

    i like using a quarter inch black and decker "bullit" or "bullet" bit.

    those spotweld bits have only made me frustrated.

    I agree with Yuk, those spot weld bits are an excercise in frustration. First you must get them to center, using the little spring loaded centering point that skittles all over the place even if you center punch. Then the centering point breaks off and you need to get another bit. I think they are ok for really thin metal and only for a few holes. But for a big job, plan on buying half a dozen and taking all day. Or better yet, use a regular self- centering drill bit that will saty sharp and on target. Just my two cents....

    www.tptools.com carries them. I have tried both and the bullet tip is ok. Key is to have a good center punch to make a nice dimple for the spot weld. It is real easy for you to drill too far with the bullet tip drills.
