Hello: Recently purchased a 1963 Wildcat Convertible, in fact, it just arrived yesterday. Great running, a straight clean survivor with a few electrical issues so far. Power windows operate very slowly. No information about them in the service or body manuals. Driver power seat motor runs but seat remains stationary. Fortunately, it is adjusted perfectly for me. Drove it yesterday for the first time. It is a bruiser! Any advice would be welcome.

Welcome, and beautiful car! The lube the factory used on the regulators pretty much turns to cement after a few years, so you probably need to get in and clean the old factory stuff out and re-grease them, then I'll bet they work perfectly for you. The seat transmission is most likely either bad or not hooked up.

Yeah, what Lucas said about the grease for the windows. Same for the seat motor/gears etc. except that if the motor runs it probably has a broken rubber shaft connector.

Tom T. I haven't yet figured out what the seat mechanism is supposed to do. I hear the motor running and see a shaft spinning. But the seat is set just where I would have put it so I have some time to figure this out. Thanks.

Lucas, you were right! So far I have solved one out of four. I tackled the driver side quarter window first. After dismantling half the car... I was able to access the window track and motor. Cleaned it up a greased it and it works so much better. Thank you!

I have replaced two motorized bucket seats in several of my 67 GS 400's. I did it the easy but expensive way, went to Ebay and bought rebuilt complete power seat mechanisms from restorers of these. You can spend $800-1200 for a completely rebuilt unit. If you can get a copy of the Buick Chassis manual the seats mechanism is covered and gives you drawings of how it works, parts etc. There is a rubber 'band' about a 1/4" thick and 4" long that is at the front of the seat and if it is broken the seat does not move. You can hear the motor but goes no where. There are two cables from the motor to the gears that move the seat and if one of those is broken then seat goes no where. The mechanism is easily rebuilt if you can find the parts IE: rebuilt motor etc. They are available on Ebay.

Good luck and welcome to the forum. Beautiful car, color me envious.:D
