Have been converting good drum spindles into disc spindles for many years. Got the idea from the big boys (MP, SSBC) converting the '65-67 Nova drum spindles to factory disc spindles.

Might post the e-Bay auction, not sure on what e-Bay seller is trying to do, or if he's one of these guys offering flat lazer cut steel brackets to mount metric calipers. Just can relate that to propperly mount factory disc caliper brackets to a converted drum spindle, it takes a lot more than 4 1/2" angle grinder... After trying to do this crudely, ended up building two jigs, one to square the spindle for the initial cut. Other to set the spindle up properly on the CNC mill for finish work. The cost of building the jigs was a lot more than a BIG box of $5 "how to" books, but def needed to be able to turn out quality disc spindles in any kind of quantity.

May end up offering bare disc spindles "for sale", but so far have been combining "reclaimed" disc spindles with excess caliper brackets that we have pulled over the years ... basically putting disc set-ups together. Hope this helps.

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

You can usually find used spindle/disc set-ups for $250-350.
You can modify drum spindles for discs but then you need all the other items for a disc set-up. www.opgi.com carries new spindles as well as all the other items.

if you have drum spindles and do not want to go through the trouble of swapping spindles Wilwood makes that set up,disc brakes with use of a drum spindle, call Dean at www.hotrodsusa.com and he`ll set you up,tell him George from NY with the `67 Buick GS gave you his number.

    Thanks
