My driveshaft loop is mounted to the trans crossmember and I busted my u joint and pinion yoke and it did it's job.If it didn't I would have replaced it.
It was a lakewood that was mounted to the floorpan and I hated that so I cut it up and drilled 2 holes in the crossmember that I can weld up if I ever want them gone. I didn't want it under the trans mount either. The holes in the floorpan are welded in now.So now I don'thave to mess with my carpets and seats when/if I need to remove it.

I took a version of the ram air model modified to mount on back of the crossmember and shortened the arm about 2". While knowing that anything can happen on a drag strip the use of a quality U-joint and the fact that we run small tires driveshaft failure is somewhat remote though not impossible. I personally use 1350 joints. These are the same ones Iused to use in my off road trucks and they were very dependable.

If you run an x-pipe,why do you need a loop?

NRHA rules with slicks, and it protects the floorpan but you're right the xpipe should keep it there.
