Guys, I asked the gurus at Dynacorn to examine the possibility of doing full, factory style quarters for 70-72 Skylarks. They said that they needed 250 or so people to stand up and commit to these before they could seriously look at it. I understand that, as there is nothing to gain from a loser product. These folks have brought some great products to market lately, with more to come. They are apparently looking at complete Chevelle body shells soon. I believe that there are more Skylarks out there waiting for restos than these folks estimate. In no way do I wish to antagonize them, but I would ask that everyone drop by there website and ask for the parts we need. They appear to have captive producers overseas that are willing and able to produce whatever they can sell. What do you think? How much of the Chevelle body parts business is really going to other A bodies being restoed? In any case, drop by the sight and voice your opinions. Thanks, Rudy E.
Rudy..i just visited the ask Joes section and i also asked about the rear quarters problem is how much per person has to shell out the cash?? just curious i however didn't mention the fact that I and many others live in the "rust belt" section of the US that maybne would have helped..oh well we shall see!!! I think that they are trying to get a feel for how much real interest is out there for these panels. The industry perspective seems to be that not enough cars are left out there, and the owners of the surviviors may not be willing to part with reasonable $'s to make something like a quarter panel project worth while. I can only hope that someone does repop these quarters, as I am would like to use a pair on my car for sure. Personally, I would be willing to go up to $500 per panel IF the quality was there for these. I only hope more than just you and I bothered to "ask Joe" or emailed Dynacorn. Maybe TPP is looking at this down the road, too. Who knows? I am just keeping my fingers croseed. Thanks, Rudy E.
Joes Reply... Go to the Dynacorn site, Ask Joe, Search on Buick and you find the request for 70-72 Quarter Panels. Here is "Joes" reply: "Okay...find 250 72 Skylark and GS customers that will put up the money for the tooling and the quarters and we'll make them. The problem is, promises don't sell parts. And that's our business. Down the road when the Buick market proves itself, then they will be something to look at, but right now, the sales just aren't there." ...and you know what. I think he is right! We need to get organized and get people to commit to the various parts that we really need. How many times have we all heard and read that the Buick Community is one of the best at networking and organizing. If our cars are the bastard step-children of GM, then how do we manage to have the GS Nationals, the BCA, support this site and on and on. Can you imagine how awesome it must be to own one of those cars that is supported by the aftermarket? I need an SS hood, I need a new bumper, a new dash etc. Well, where is my catalog? I think instead of shooting for commitments for 250 pairs of quarters we aught to just be asking for the bottom line. How much cash do we need to Pony up to get you to move???? So I just asked him exactly that..... We'll see.
quarter panels I e-mailed joe and told them I heard they were thinking of doing quarter panels and I could use 3 sets to start with. They e-mailed back and said they don't know where I heard that but its not true and they don't think they will ever build parts for Buicks. Hopefully they will change their mind. ? Thanks,Scott

Have you guys that want full quarters already placed a order for outer wheelhouses for 70-72 Skylark & GS from the parts place? If you need quarter panels then you also will need outer wheelhouses.TPP said they didn't see as much interest in the wheelshouses as they expected and the outlay of money to do them is greater than for grilles,fan shouds,marker lamps,ect. We already have quarter skins for 70-72 GS availible now that can fix most quarter promblems so why would someone make full quarters when there is no buyer support for outer wheelhouses which are non existitent in used or NOS markets and someone is stepping up to repro them and most Buick owners are sitting on thier :moonu: and not preordering them to get good pricing and untie money for another sheetmetal Buick repro?I would like to have full quarters availible as well but if outer wheelhouses do not sell like hotcakes we will never see them for sure.
