Dynaflow to turbo 400

Can I control a turbo 400 using the steering column in my in my 52 Buick which has a dynaflow transmission? The shift stops in a turbo 400 are in the transmission and the dynaflow stops are at the steering column lever. They could be removed. I want to maintain the stock column if all possible.

Interested in the answer here too; planning on a TH400 where a Dynaflow was also ('59). I do have a '65 column available if I need to change it out... but I also want the original column.
In my case I'm also wondering about the shift quadrant, which is vertical in '59...

Its a little more complicated. The TH400 usually will move between 1/2/D
freely, but may require pulling back on the lever to get into other gears as a
safety feature. And what about the starter lockout except in P or N? The
simple fix is use a later column, or you figure a way to convert your column.
    good luck, Bruce Roe

Maybe asking a dumb question here, but what about the torque tube? Don't your have to change the complete rear end ? ( transmission, rear-end and drive shaft )

Houmark: I am looking forward to getting rid of the enclosed driveshaft, it leaks all the time and there are not a lot of rear end gear options.
Bruce Roe: Cole Hersee has a large selection of neutral safety switches and it would just be a case of fabricating a bracket down on the shift shaft of the transmission for each position of park and neutral.

I know a new steering column would be the best, but I want to retain my steering wheel and shifter arm. I have not done any homework on adapters.

Lokar has a universal shift linkage kit that appears to make it easy to mate more modern trans' like TH400 to vintage columns.
