going to dyno the 446 ci stroker on a superflow chassy dyno. going with a conservative 18% drive train loss to get engine hp and tq. would like everybody to guess horsepower and torque numbers and what rpm they will peak at. remember guess engine numbers, the rear wheel numbers will be on the sheet too, but to keep things simple guess engine numbers. will have no carb spacer and the headers will stay capped. 323 gears(they say you get better numbers if you have more gears like 410 or 456 not sure that's true. heads are ported. will have Bobs(gsconv) ported single 4 intake and 800 cfm edellbrock. smaller solid cam on docs famous 109 LSA. idles good at 775 rpms. should be at the dyno the end of this week. winner gets a recording of my girl friend telling me how dumb I am to spend all the time on money on cars. thanks guys
Hey Joe, glad you are that point for the dyno. I will step up first. The intake is a 4 hole so I think your gonna keep a little more tq. 109 lsa kinda comes in a little faster from what I hear. uuhh, 410 tq at 3300 and 320 hp at 4700. at the rear wheels:TU: If I am the winner I will just call and she can tell me over the phone:laugh::laugh: Just read it again, 390 hp at 4700 and 512 tq at 3300
I couldnt begin to guess, but if Buick's numbers were fairly accurate net (as mine seem to be, at least on the HP side based on 1/4 mile MPH) it should be hard to add 50 to both numbers based on what you describe..... I'll go on record with 375 hp, 495 torque. Hope I lose by a healthy margin!
355 RWHP and 440 RWTQ (433 FWHP and 537 FWTQ using 18% DTL) - peak HP at 5,100 Peak TQ at 3200. I gave RW numbers first since that is what the chassis dyno measures. Cheryl
 that's my goal 431 hp to match PEM racing and 540 tq to match AMS engines. am thinking peak hp might be only at 4800 rpms but will hang on longer, cam is not too big but the solid cam and lifters will help.
Yah good luck gsgtx..its fun to see differant nailhead builds. Should say a lot about stroken a nailhead
I can give the dyno numbers I have the sheets, 6671 will post the charts when I get them email to me from the dyno shop and then email them to 6671. so you will have to take my word for it for now. 349.8 hp @ 4391 RPM rear wheel and 450.1 tq @ 3487 at the wheels. so we at 426.6 horse power and 549 torque, at the engine .
Nice! It is about what you figured, and is verging on an 11 second car with the right gear and trans. Did the HP stay pretty close to peak for a while? 4400 seems too early to quit (shift). Cheryl
Was thinking about this at work today. Got home and you already posted, cool:TU:.. Wow that makes for a really strong street car, and like babeola says will make a good 1/4 time. I was surprised that it peaked the hp at 4400. Now we have to ask what would happen with the 2x4 intakeo No:.I think what we are vfinding out is these engines build tq in a hurry. :3gears:
thanks, yes stayed up ,at 5200 it only loss 28 hp at 5400 rpms it made 50 rear wheel hp more then the 425. more low end and top end then the hydrlic cam I took out of the stroker, that one was 224*-231* ---------- Post added at 08:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:23 PM ---------- yea it peaked but the power curve was way better, try to get the graph up and compare the too. your intake seems to work out great and handled the job well.:TU:
Damn! That's some power! Cheryl's the one person who didn't severely underestimate the output. I have to ask, like in your other thread, what are the cam specs, and what was done to the heads? Also, is Bob's ported intake a "doc dual plane" setup? Congrats again on the kick ass numbers! :TU:
Andy, I can answer the intake stuff. After talking with Tom T. , Joe wanted to keep a little tq that he felt he was losing with the last cam. He was running a Doc job on a intake and we just tried a different set up. This intake is a 4 hole but fully ported. I did some different things to it and not sure if it was any better or not. Sure worked on my intake comparison thread. I have ported a same set up but already has the doc job done on it and will see how that acts:TU: I have 373 gears so the bottem tq isn't as important. I don't think you can hurt the intake by porting it because the runners are so small. Unles of course you do stuff to the intake that wouldn't make sense. Seems like every little cfm makes a difference on a starved engine:TU:.........Also once again, nice job Joe:TU:
