I hope I posted this in the correct spot.

How many people have used dzus fasteners to attach their fenders? I have metal fenders but they aren't in the greatest of shape. My plan was to remove the bracing and re-attach with dzus fasteners. I'm having a difficult time on getting them to line up with the original brace that's been modified due to rust. Is this a stupid idea?

I hope you are asking about a race car. Dzus are used when a panel needs to come off frequently. They hold very well but the bottom spring needs to be mounted on a stiff brace as the fastening strength comes from spring force.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. They are very secure and they look ok. I have them on a fiberglass hood and trunk lid
