https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-70-71-...-/184659614912?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 Looks like a nice NOS set of early production sport mirrors on ebay. Of course you would have to source the correct 9827788 gaskets and retainers for our Buick’s. The part number 98224... on the box indicates 1970 GSX per my parts manual. Probably the same for F-body. Pice might be a little steep. I think I saw 10-20% off one time for this set. Comes with F-body mounting gasket.....
Pretty hard to read but appears to be 12th month of 1979. Even if the “9” is a “0” it is too late in the year for a GSX
It’s a 9. Yes it could indicate 1979 but the “objects in mirror” would be on the passenger glass. I would say these would go on an early production model. Some parts/cars were built in 69 for 70 right?
You could be might be right so have to ask the fellas with X’s to look for us . I have been collecting them from April up till August on the mirrors but to support your theory I do have an original “1” or January GSX steering wheel.
Looks like the seller just updated the ad and added pictures showing the 298xx part numbers and 1970 housing date code for the passenger mirror. No date code seen on the driver housing?? I still think this set is correct for anyone who wants an NOS set to add sport mirrors to their 70 Buick A-body and maintain early date codes.
Cheers, I have a late April GSX with a 12-dmi-9 passenger mirror. It's a 57000 mile car and looks to be the original mirror. Other side is a 2-dmi-0
If those part numbers are accurate - they are definitely correct for the '70 GSX. The hardware pack should contain the proper gaskets and mounting bracket for the Buick, too.
I asked, only has the driver side gasket and bracket. The number on the gasket is 9832126? Not Buick.
The GSX's started factory production in Feb 1970, so a 12-9 mirror (Dec 1969) would be perfect for an early production car, and if memory serves me correct that is the earliest date found on those mirrors. Duane
