easier way to install a motor

    You guys all liked my other tips, so I thought I'd tell you another one:

    I use two 3" long 7/16" bolts that I have cut the head from and ground a gradual dull point on them.

    With the transmission already in the car, and supported by a floor jack,

    I put them in two places on the lower back side of the motor to aid in alignment with the transmission bell housing. You just line them up with two holes, and slide in the motor. After you put in a few of the regular bolts, you remove these and put the other bolts in their place. No more fighting and cursing trying to get them started when the block is seated firmly against the tranny.

    Trust me on this one, it works like a champ. I can install a motor alone by myself using this trick. She'll slide right in like your......well you know!:laugh:
