i have 350 buick engien with 4 barl carbortor. what i can do to improve the preformance of the car? how i add more musscle to the car?
Hacham, First thing you should do is to tune the engine to the factory specs: set the timing, maybe replace the old spark plugs and wires, look at the ignition, rotor and cap, check all vacuum lines and make sure your carburator is working as it should. I reckon this should improve the power of that 350, it's not a real slough, but lack of knowledge of American cars in a country like Israel, can turn any good car into a slow boat. (I've seen strange things done to American cars right here in the Netherlands by "so called experts") The above things are the cheapest to get the engine running as it should, parts are available from your local auto shop. For performance parts you have to order from the USA, meaning very high shipping costs and import tax.(same thing here) Best thing to start with is a camshaft/intake manifold/carburator combo that will work together to add power to the engine. Next thing is better ignition, most of the times this upgrade is the forgotten link.... A better flowing exhaust with headers can be your next step after all of the above. And ofcourse a set of alu heads will make a big difference, but all this stuff will cost you about twice the price in the USA.
Hacham, I think you or on about a 455 Buick engine, or is it some other engine ? It can be done, but I suggest you also swap the transmission for a TH 400. Since parts are not easy to find in Israel, I think you better should stick to the advice in the post above: Get that 350 engine running like it's supposed to be, and you will be suprised by the power coming from that small block :3gears:
