Exhaust manifold color

Hi, What is the best color? I have 2 sets of ceramic coated manifolds. Also, for a GS built in April of 70 would the drivers manifold be a 1233899 or a 1233461? thanks

 

I have a NOS exhaust manifold and it’s closer to the dark color.
Here is a set of reproduction cast iron exhaust manifolds that are a good example of new, raw cast iron.

 

Thanks Gary, I had the dark ones on my car and before I put my heads back on I was deciding which ones I wanted to use since the lighter grey ones are in really nice shape with very little pitting. Whatever set I don’t use I will mostly like list for sale.

According to my David Walker book, the driver's side manifold is part/cast number 1233899.

 

1233899 is correct for the driver side. Here’s a picture of the original of my stage 1 built second week of March original heat shield was black from the factory.
