Alright, i have $200 to spend on the Lark..kinda getting tired of the exhaust leak So i figure maybe its time to get some real exhaust, When i got the car the mufflers were rusted away..So it had straight pipes...just threw on some 32inch glasspacks that were laying around, which isnt loud AT ALL, Love the exhaust note..just cant hear it unless you stand behind the car. I figure ill just get new pipe(2 1/2) But i dont know what kinda mufflers..i want a LOUD aggressive tone..No glasspacks though..i hate that popping tone...Been looking at Dynomax Turbo mufflers...wonderin about Summit Turbo Mufflers (Same specs...twice as cheap) Just wondering what everyone else ran and likes..
I have some flowmasters on mine, sound reaallll sweet... don't know the price on them individually but the whole header back system was around $275 I think.....
I just paid $425 installed for my manifold back setup using Magnaflows. The Magnaflows sound pretty good, I can hear them in the car while driving, but they aren't loud just a quite rumble. When you rev the engine high, they are loud but not very loud.
I had a set of turbos put on my 350 and they've got a nice sound to them. I would like to throw headers on it though... I payed $300 for my duals from manifold back...not including the chrome tips. That was another $90. You're looking at about $400 for a decent exhaust system. Flowmasters are good if you want to wake up the neighbors...but they sound sweet. I think I want to wake the neighbors with my next project.:grin: Just forget the mufflers altogether...then you won't have to worry about what brand to go with. Adam
re-exhaust i have a 67 buick GS340 that had glass pacls on it when i bouhgt it when they wore out i went to our local auto zone and bought mufflers for like a 79 trans am they are vary short maybe two chamber because from the factory the TA also used resonators. I got 2-1/2inch ones and the sound great plus the were only 15 bucks. i did it because i am going to colledge and don't have the money for a flowmaster system right at the moment adam
