Numbers matching Engine Turbo 400 8.2 rear Carb Distributor not running but drivetrain is installed in the car. Loaded incl. pwr windows, locks, discs, steering. Needs full resto but very little rust. Lots of nos parts and some sheet metal. throw me some numbers, guys.
Appears to be the same car here? https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/72-gs-stage-one-convertible.378657/ https://www.estatesales.net/FL/Debary/32713/3317580 https://www.lordezestatesales.com/p...-and-40-years-vintage-collection-estate-sale/
Should have an 8.5 rear in a 72. If it is the one in the pix I think my start would be in the $4500-6000 range and go from there. I m not saying it isn't worth more, just not to me.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-buick-gs-9/ This ‘71 only bid to 80K DONE . Cost 100K to restore that 72. Something to consider .
"Very little rust"- comes with 1/4s, floor pans and a trunk pan. The fenders need work from the pictures.. neat car but maybe there is a fair amount of rust!
$10-15k and even if free it's a losing proposition but still a neat/rare car. I think I said $20k in the other thread was reasonable but less now w/more info. Also depends on whether the carb/dist. are there, assuming the engine/trans. are orig., what the "lots of NOS parts" entails, a d whether the sheetmetal is orig. or repro. At least the car isn't apart.
$10k for a '72 Stage 1 convertible with the original engine block, transmission, and rearend that's mostly complete and restorable for $10k? I'll take 2 please. Where do I go to pick them up? I'm ready. Original carb is missing according to docgsx who looked at the car in person.
I did and I'm not. My interested was to broker it to a friend that's looking for a project. He offered me a fee to help him buy it but he has now decided he wants a running car even if it needs a full restoration.
