Family Activities during BPG Nationals

  1. Hi there -
This is Barb (Dave's wife) signed on under his name. We are planning to bring our 6 year old daughter with us to Salem, Ohio in August. I am curious to find out about other wives with small kids who are also going to be there! I might spend an hour or so max at the car show, but don't have much interest in the races etc at the track. Can the ladies hook up somewhere in Salem and hang out together? We are thinking of getting a hotel with a nicer pool area...this might be a fun opportunity for the kids to play together and a general gathering place for people to hang out and maybe have drinks, snacks etc? I would love it if the wives could get some threads going under the buick widows portion of the board. Can you guys get the wives to come on and chat? It would be a lot more fun if we can all hook up with the kids while you are all at the track!
    Thanks!
    Barb

Hi Barb... I am glad you posted this! I am debating about going mainly because of what my wife and child will do there. She has no interest in cars but I would hate to leave her home. We have a 'just turned' 1 year old son that would also be along for the trip if it happens. If someone can designate a hotel where other wives and kids will be, I might be able to get her to go. I also think if someone could post what there is to do in the area, that would also help...

  3. John,

Barb has also posted a similar thread in the Buick Widows forum, under my user name. Can you ask your wife to post on the thread in that forum? My wife would love to chat with her a bit...

    stuff

I'll be posting several links over the weekend of fun things to do in the area of the hotels and track. There's some really quaint little store in the city of Salem, but other than the track, there's not to much to do right there.

Check out the BPG board this weekend for links and more information about things to do in the area :)

  5. Thanks Renee! :TU: Barb is getting a little antsy about planning, or not planning, to go to Salem. We'll keep an eye open for more info. :Comp:

I'll be bringing along the 5, 7 and 9 year old daughters I'm accused of fathering  and the wife too! None of which will last longer than a few hours at any car event. We're going to stay at the Fairfield Inn which I believe they said has a pool....

My wife will be along, but if all goes as planned.....she'll be racing her car(or my '70 Stg-1 if hers isn't completed) our kids, boy 7, & girl 6, are veterans of hanging out at the dragstrip, they can usually be found in the enclosed trailer playing hot wheels, gameboy or watching a video on TV,(that is when their not watching me race, they love watching the S-16 cars pull wheelies) Bring the kids & wifes, it will be a good time!!!:TU:
