Fender Emblems

    On removing the fender emblems on the 70-72 Skylark GS, is posable to just remove the bottom 2 bolts and one or two of the wheel house bolts to reach the speed nut to the front fender emblems?

    Aren't the emblems secured with barrel clips? Can you see speed nuts on yours? Mine have barrel clips.

    Yes Al, you can do this if your car has speed nuts. Having small hands helps. Larry's right they usually have barrel nuts, though.

    If they don't pry off somewhat easily, don't force it. You may be able to see if they are held on with speed nuts through the door jamb.

    My ‘71 GS has speed nuts on the original “GS” and “Buick Motor Division” emblems

    None of them had barrel nuts from the factory with the exception of the trunk emblem
