Yup. POSSUM LODGE! Fernando & Kathy Alvare (in the woodsy lodge just a bit north of Tampa) hosted another really, really nice Skylark Drive Buick Club event on Saturday January 25th! The weather was perfect, the food was great, the huge, very warm and appropriate bon fire at the front door of the Possum Lodge was inviting and thoroughly awesome!!!
Our local Buick Club has held this event a few times in the past, NOT on a regular basis, but on Group vote type thing... The last time Fernando and Company hosted this was, IF my records are correct, 2012. like 8 years ago???
Anyway, about 35 showed up in spite of a chilly clear sky evening and I simply cannot remember all who was there but I do know Fernendo & sweet wife Kathy, Sid and Belva Myer, Mike Nussel, (one of the VERY early pioneers of the GSCA) Wayne Elicott, John Wheeler, Bill Locke, Mark Smith, Bob Stillwell, Robin Cooke & wife from Ontario, Jeff and wife, Steve & wife (owners of 71 stage One in the pix) and prolly a few more that will slam me for forgetting . . .oh ya, and I was there too!
Nevertheless, Fernando served a slab of pulled pork drenched in Sweet baby rays BBQ sauce on top of Hawaiian sweet rolls, and others brought mac'n cheese, tuna salad with lil spiral noodle things, the best dern baked beans I ever et, tater salad, slaaaw, deserts galore. . . and so much more!

Ya know, getting together these days it tough, but, we just "have to" do it. I've lost 4 friends this past year & things like that remind us we are simply not getting any younger and there is no better time than NOW, to hook up with good friends, great eats, and lots of Buick Talk!!!

Till next time, BE SAFE and make plans to attend next POSSUM LODGE event!

Guys...POSSUM LODGE PARTY has been basically a Local SKYLARK DRIVE BUICK CLUB event... However, this could easily become a much larger get-together with more and more fello Buick enthusiasts moving to Florida area. As founder of the Club (1992) I will discuss this with our members and recommend this event to WELCOME ANY Buick Guys'n Gals to the next event....PROMISE to keep you all informed.!!

Looks like a great time! I wish I could have been there. Its hard to believe that "Skylark Drive" was just a group of us Buick guys from Tampa Bay who got together over 30 years ago!

I'd come join your party even from the east coast. I believe I belonged, or inquired about the Skylark Drive club way back in the beginning cause I have a couple of your news letters.

I'm sure you do Jim!!! BUT, I'm willing to bet you a FULL SLAB-O-BBQ-Ribs at Willy G's, you dont have this ORIGINAL YELLO FLYER I PERSONALLY stopped and handing out to every BUICK owner I saw on the road for well-over-a year before I pulled together our first OFFICIAL Meeting at Fat Boys place!!

So, Ya got one of these fliers??
