  2. In and effort to reduce the spam on the site, several years ago I had went to a program where I manually approve each and every new registration. This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy.. Just send an email to me at jim@trishieldperformance.com and I will verify your registration. This policy will remain in effect indefinitely, as it has completely eliminated the bad actors from our site, who would spam and hack it, once they gained access. Thanks JW

Finally got on the board

Discussion in 'Wet behind the ears??' started by Paul Massicotte, Sep 24, 2003.

  1. Hey! I have been reading for months now but could not get on...but a couple emails to Mike Bucy and it's done. Anyway I got my Buick story for anyone willing to read. People who know me are sick of hearing it. .. I graduated for college in 2000. When I did my uncle who lives in San Jose Ca gave me a card with no money in it but there was a picture. The picture was that of his daily driver in SanJose. A 1970 Skylark painted PPG jungle green. He bought it from the orig. owner in 1990 and had been driving it for 10 years. The only catch was I had to fly out and drive it back. Now, I flew out, waited a week for the motor to get rebuilt and broke it in driving back and forth down the CA coast from San Jose to Pebble Beach, did I mention it has an M20 in it? Yeah, my uncle got sick of the three on the tree and put an after market Comp Plus and Muncie in it. So I drove it back to Mass. by myself on Route 80 doing 70 mph the entire way. 4 days and 657.00 in gas later I was home. Needless to say I was hooked on Buicks by then. I had always been an A body admirer but now I had my own. I drive it from April to October and store it in the winter. She started out as a Seamist Green hardtop with a Sandalwood interior. But I wanted buckets and as I learned more and soaked in everything I could about skylarks gs's and their history I found myself wanting consolettes and original shifters and NOS pieces. Not being married I can afford to spend disposible income on things my girlfriend can't justify and so I began collecting parts. I have mostly completed the interior with custom sandalwood bucket covers by legendary as sandalwood was a bench only color. But I digress... anyway I did the interior over myself in my kitchen (recovering the seats on the kitchen table, painting the consolette and dying headrests and console cover) after work. But I drive her everyday with 5,000 miles this year so far. No one my age (25) around here is into cars let alone Buicks. My friends all drive hondas and toyotas. so it is nice to see that the fellowship of the brotherhood does exist even if it is from my keyboard and not on the county two lane. Sorry I had to get this out but evryone I know is sick of my ramblings about sandalwood paint only coming in 12 oz spray cans from Year One or how you have to wait 10 weeks to get anything from Legendary or how thrilled I was with the results of my interior work.
    Glad to be aboard.
