Went out today weather was good mid to upper 60's temp and sunny. Made 3 passes before a car wrecked that slowed things way down. First pass was a 1.91 60ft time and a 12.23 at 112.74 mph. Next pass went a 1.89 60 ft 12.17 at 112.89 .Last pass went a bit better 1.87 60ft 12.10 at 113.02. Just couldn't seem to get a good 60 ft that would have gotten a better et. I will try a newer set of tires next week and see if a 11 something is going to happen .A 1.80 60 ft should get a 11.95 et .It should do better than that . Maybe more seat time will get it there only have 8 passes on the car .

The weather is looking good for next weekend so I will try again .Try a newer set of tires the ones on the car are no longer safe or usefull .Try lighter vacuum secondary springs maybe that's why it doesn't come out as hard as it should .If that doesn't help try launching differently .Leaving and idle now and rolling into the throttle. It is running a good 1/8 mile time 7.77 at 90.66 mph the best and a bunch of 7.80's just need to get off the line harder . Determination and perseverance should get a desired result with enough practice. Some luck never hurt either .

Going to US41 on Saturday for sure .May try the carb off the blue 69 car to see if it helps get off the line quicker they already have the same vacuum secondary springs. That car always had a good launch . Will try and be there when they open at noon .Anyone that can come on out

Got back out today .Mid 50's and partly cloudy good air but wish the track surface would have been warmer . With the other carb now there is more bottom end power than can be used unlike the other one that seemed near maxed out. Steve A showed up and we hung out and he watched the runs and even got a ride .Good guy to hang out with sure helped the time pass fast between runs . First pass was a 12.13 at 113.20 a 1.90 60ft .Next tried a bit harder on the launch and went a 12.01 at 113.75 with a 1.83 60 ft time. Let it cool down and went a 12.01 at 113.75 again with a 1.80 60ft and 7.70 in the 1/8 mile at 91.24 .Let it cool added 100lbs to the trunk launched harder but spun and went 12.05 at 113.18 . Went back up right away and went a 12.22 at 113 .Track got oiled and never got another pass in. It now has more power than can be handled instead of not quite enough . Have to figure out how to find a compromise . Maybe a bit less timing or change the plastic cam on the side of the throttle arm that actuates the accelerator pump .Close but not quite there but the horse power is there waiting to be harnessed.

I may try a few other changes and get out again but would rather have at lest 60 degrees or more for some track temperature . If anyone else is going to US 41 let me know . I would like an 11 something time slip but this spring may be the best time to get it .

wow, Steve, that is knocking on the door. nicely done. :TU:

I'll try and get the car back together for the spring as I'd like to see how 41 hooks now. I suppose we could do some tweaks to the munson mobile and just bring that car :Brow:
