I am curious who makes aluminum finned valve covers to fit a 401 ?

I would prefer just fins with no badging. I also like the ones with Buick cast in the side.

Here's a pic of my 28 Ford with the 401. Mostly done except for glass , paint, and headers. Info appreciated

offenhauser and mooneyes make a valve cover the ones with Buick stamped on the side are getting very expensive. watch out for the mexico repops they are usually on ebay for about $175. or so. The ones in your pictures are just stock and are about a dime a dozen. I like my offys OK I also have a set of stock raised letter but one is in real bad shape hoping I can find just 1 some where.

Hi, thanks for the replies. Topcat, thats a bit more than I wanted to spend. Greg, I am going to build a set of zoomies for it but I like your price. I didn't know anyone was building block huggers for a nailhead .

I like these and the price is ok but how would I get the pcv valve to stay in ? Just use a grommet and then silicone where the tabs would be?

I will be selling a set of the original "BUICK" aluminum valve covers for the nailheads, that have gone thru a very extensive polishing and look fantastic. Perfect condition. $500

Topcat, those 'no-namers' look just like the Edelbrock's I run on my 55. They are getting harder to find as well.
As far as the Mooneyes set goes, I would make sure the Mr. Gasket breather is not a 'push-in' style, and that it does in fact 'twist in'.

I too have a set of these old Edlebrock finned "no name" valve covers on my engine. I drilled a hole in the valley cover, installed a grommet, and run my PCV valve through there. The new valve covers and valley covers that are being made by Don Kring employ this method. He will also fit an oil filler tube into the valley cover if you request it. Has anyone else seen his new intake manifold for mounting four Weber 48 IDA carbs on a nailhead? If you haven't seen them yet, here's a link to his website.

How about some modified no-named Moons, PCV out of the valley, and fresh air out of the rear of the valve covers?
