It seems that when we make a part as that is close to original; but might not be 100% correct, we get bashed. :spank: Now I see a post with someone making a similar, but not correct "1968-72 GM 3 Hole Firewall Grommet (For Vacuum Hose and Wiring)". We have had the correct grommets available for months now and at a lower price. I thought I would post information on all of the various grommets you might not know are already available.

A: 1968-72 GM 1 Hole Firewall Grommet GM#401565 1-3/4 (For Vacuum Line and Wiring) $10
B: 1968-72 GM 3 Hole Firewall Grommet w/Metal Core 2 (For Vacuum Hose and Wiring) $12
C: 1968-72 GM Firewall Plastic Plug for Turbo 400 or Manual (Plugs Hole Where Turbo 350 Kick Down Cable Would Pass Through) $10
D: 1968-72 GM 3 Hole Firewall Grommet 1-1/4 (For Accessory Wires, Mounts by Brake Booster or Master Cylinder) $10
E: 1968-72 GM 1 Hole Firewall Grommet 1-1/4 (For Blower Motor Wire to Pass Through, Mounts by Heater Box) $10

    Shane,
First, I appreciate all that The Parts Place is doing for the hobby. You make lots of great parts that can't be found anywhere else.
That being said, I don't think you were implying that I had ever bashed your (TPP) efforts to make correct parts. You know we cant please everyone all the time. Some folks will complain about anything.
I started a thread last winter (Jan,16,2007) asking if there was any interest in these and there was. Then you replied that TPP was working on them and would have them soon.

We have that grommet already in the works and should be in next month, we are also doing the one for non-air.

I will stop work on this project if The Parts Place is going to produce it. There is not enough demand to have more than 1 supplier making it.
    Shane ,
Keep us updated on the progress please and post other projects you are working on so we are not duplicating efforts.
    Thanks

I revived the thread twice asking for a progress report and there was no answer.

    Shane,
Any update as to when this will be available?

    Shane,
Any progress on the firewall grommet?

After several months and no announcement that they were available I checked your web site again for the part and did not find them. I assumed incorrectly that TPP decided not to make them. Now we both have similar parts that offer people a choice. Good for every body except us. It was NOT my intention to duplicate an existing offering, but I had no indication that TPP was making them.
There are no hard feelings on my end and I hope TPP does not think I was attempting to steal any sales from them.
PS sorry for the long winded explanation just wanted to clear the air.
