    skitzofrenic66 What's an Import?

Just a guess but here it goes... Maybe a drunken Chevy Plant worker/German Secret Spy secretly stole the plans for the German Army and gave them to his contact at the buick plant. They were hidden along with $1,000,000, *in the rear quarter panel* and the car was set to be shipped back to Germany to fund the new German Uprising against the world but James Bond stopped it from happening and sometime later you got the car. Or maybe it's top secret plans for Chevy and Buick to get together and make the worlds first Chevuick cars? Either way it wreaks of CONSPIRACY!

    George,
That's a Fisher Body Sheet, it was used to highlight areas of the body that were damaged and might need repair. They also used these sheets for quality control.
Is there anything on the other side, and was your car built in Kansas City?

    George,

Is this the normal order of how things work for you:

    1) Buy Car
    2) Clean Car
    3) Look for any thing hidden in Car by Completely Disassembling Perfectly Good Car
    4) Re-assemble Car
    5) Sell Car

Time span, 1 to 2 weeks.

    Start over with new car.

It depends on my mood,at this time i am putting in a brand new interior, seat covers front buckets and rear seat, carpet, package tray, got a new set of wheels(17"torq thrust)for it,i will clean the whole car up,repaint the trunk, get a new rear bumper for it because its dull, front is rechromed, got NOS headlight bezels and tailight bezels and lenses,NOS Turn signal lenses(front),new repro Gran Sport emblems all around,i will put new Hotchkis front and rear springs, new shocks and install front 1 1/4 sway bar, repaint console, and then i`ll see after i finish everything what mood i`m in,i may even keep her,who knows.:)

It's like the ElCamino build sheet I found in my '70 Skylark Race Car, I sent a copy to Duane and he loved it and told me it was for an ElCamino 4-speed, that went to Canada, what fun these assemblers had in the old days, nobody from management was watching what was going on, the best story was the one where the car was taken back to the dealership for a rumble, or out of balance tire, and they found a piece of cake in the tire, this is a true story, guess the production worker didn't like the cake! It was probably that brown stuff and he/she liked white or yellow cake!!!!!!!!
The stories of how are cars were built would fill a book that no one would ever believe! And then we wonder why the history is so confusing, cause there were alot of internal policies, on what parts where bought from which vendors, who bought the most lunches, or brought the best donuts, I'm sorry, but this is how it used to be done, Not anymore! Lopez era cleaned up the buying power of the vendors, they now have to produce cost savings per year on a 3 yr contract. Hence, some of the downgrade of some products where they have to meet the cost savings initiatives, even if that means degrading quality. I'm out on a limb, stirring up GM purchasing policy and the rest of the internal mess of GM. so I better stop now before, I really tell how it is! RV

    If you sell

Well, if you do decide to sell her. I am really wanting a '66 GS sooooooooo bad. I am wanting to have a car that I can drive next to my Uncle's, the one in the avatar. The only problem is I am a college student. I don't go out partying, but I still don't have much money. School is expensive. I would love to possibly buy your car if you do decide to sell her. Unless you would like to donate her to a poor college student from Texas who is a Buick GS fanatic. :Brow: If not then maybe I could pay you in small payments if that is ok. :TU:
