Did anyone catch on fox news about how France gave a convicted killer honory citizenship. Some guy who killed a man and then emptied his clip into the guys face. So to honor the killer France gives him citizenship. They honored the killer, not the guy who got killed.

I doubt very much that France responded to a murder by saying, "Oh, goody! What a nifty murderer! let's do domething nice for him!"

There is more to this story than is reported here, I would have to say.

That is all Mr Oriley said. Was just a short blurb about it and that is why France honored him. Because they do not believe in captiol punishment, they will honor the man.

Pick someone who killed by accident or didnt really mean it. But from the story told he went above and beyond killing the man he killed.

The killed mans wife was not happy.

France would only pick a ruthless killer to honor to piss us off because lots of people still boycot them. THey could of honored anyone else worthy.

Thats why i ask if anyone caught it on fox. I looked after I saw it but saw no story on his page and only caught a follow up blurb. I missed the long version with the wife of the killer interview or a chance to catch any names.

The finding of brand new 2002 Frence missles in Iraq is enough for me but this new news is really wack. Everyone has arms stolen or lost and never reports it.

But this is blantent slap in the face.

Well, I really can't comment on it then, although I daresay CNN would have a bit on it, and I'm sure FOX has a website. I am not particularly a lover of the French, I don't take the "We saved your ass in WWII" approach, although I have made comment on IndoChina (Vietnam) enough that I feel like a parrot. The French are historically a group that have a lot of detractors- Caesar commented on the character of the Gauls as being basically sneaky and backstabbing, thousands of years ago. He recorded that they would not honor a treaty, for instance. But then again, he was killing them at the time!

Personally I take people as they come, and although it's funny to say I studied French so that during interrogation, they couldn't slip anything by me, I really cannot beleive that the story of France choosing to honor a murderer can be taken at face value in this instance. There has to be more to the story; an essentially free and democratic society does not honor murder, especially as a means to agitate another country.

Once I learn the whole story, I can discuss it, but until then all I can say is that France is also a country with a strong strain of Christianity, and that alone tells me that no matter what the average Frenchman thinks of the US, they still hate violent crime as much as we do in the US.

Let's clarify a few things, shall we?

    1) It's debatable whether the subject in question is actually a murderer or is having his civil rights violated. As someone who grew up in DE, I am somewhat familiar with the person's background. They were not a good group, especially in comparison to the Black Panthers, but there's nothing more I'd want out of life than justice for everyone.

    2) You started this post without much facts only to further your own agenda, which for some reason has to do with a French fetish.

All the time on car web sites, I have to tolerate propaganda that is simply untrue. Remember after 9/11, there was an email circulating about how the Japanese car companies had not donated a cent to the 9/11 fund? Or how Hillary (oh dear . . . ) stood up some veteran's wives?

Let's look beyond the rhetoric and get to the truth - isn't that a good idea?

You can say what you want, but if it's gonna involve irrational hate, I'll be more than happy to put my $0.02 worth . . . which ain't much, according to you.

    Ergot Fast with cash.

Besides.. The true measure of a country is not found in its political chambers but on the streets with its people.

Their government and laws may be jacked but the people I met everywhere we went while visting the country as a submariner were absolutelu amazing. Hospitable, open, kind, curious about us and as generous as anywhere ive ever been here in the states.

So.. Unless you've been there, Why not STFU & bother to actually try to learn something about a culture before you decide to let the media puppeteers pull your strings. :TU:

They arent the only one whos government does unsavory things.

Because the Frence people don't agree with our goverment system, They did that.

THey didn't bother to take the time to learn about us and decide not to honor that guy cause of a flaw in our system. They slaped the whole US in the face cause of judging us by our system???

Forget history [which has enough crap to comdem France] the last year or so has been total BS. And I say piss on em.

Now if I didn't really like them Id say nuke em but I would only like take a big steamy piss on France an their buddy Iraq.

I never once said anything about the French people as a whole no did I?

This is similar to Rush saying black.

Its only offensive if you let it be offensive.
