Addressing Climate Change, to me , is like treating illness. If a person has Cancer, then treatment that damn near kills him is warranted. If the patient is overweight, with high cholesterol and diabetes, the treatment should be much less severe, starting with suggesting he consume less and consume with more thought and care. The climate alarmists want us all to believe that Earth has Cancer, when in reality we might just need to be smarter about what and how much we consume.

Technically the global warming hoax preceded the Co-Co Cooties hoax

Well considering China burns more coal that the rest of the world combined, we could start there and leave us alone. But since everything we buy comes from there, we can't quite do that can we? In any event this is not about the environment. You have all your enviro-pawns screaming and yelling that the planet is dying but it's really about controlling people and global economy and one world government. It's almost moot to discuss electric vs gas without this in mind. I think it is much deeper. But I can't quite wrap my small brain around it all.

Wow, so far so good V8Buick members. A newer EV related thread can persist without being locked for uncivil comments.

Dear Chad and V-8 Buick "realists,"

What should frighten us is what we can all agree on. As Henry David Thoreau said (roughly) "Men (and women) live lives of quiet desperation."

    Sadly, Edouard

    Yep!
It has (I think) very little to do about the environment and EVERYTHING to do about money and power.
Elon Musk, where DID he come from?
He’s one of the richest if not THE richest person in the world.
He started Tesla, sends rockets into space, WTF is his agenda?

There is plenty on Elon - google him. On the topic of EVs, Paraphrasing his own words, He started Tesla because traditional carbon based fuels are finite, producing electricity is less finite and production can be done by various methods. He has also said he is about advancing humanity. Sending ppl to Space, tries to ensure free speech and free thought etc.

Yes. He is the richest man in the world as of this posting.

People's assertions and opinions are atleast civil enough to pass the subjective enforcement of board rules (in sincerity it is difficult being a moderator). Thankfully people still retain the choice to dig deeper or ignore such comments to participate in a discussion.

Sadly, I suppose Henry David Thoreau is now wrong. Thanks to the Internet, I suppose we can conclude it is no longer lives of quiet desperation.

    It certainly doesn't make me any less sad, . . . . . :(

The Tesla body ( I don’t know which model) is actually pretty cool looking, an LS swap in a Tesla I’d approve LOL :p:p

Producing anything is finite, stuff does run out eventually.
    So Elons thinking is whacked:p:rolleyes:

We aren't running out of oil and gas, its just a powergrab to shut it down.

I was careful to say "less finite", not "infinite" irt electricity production options which again is my paraphrase of Elon's statements some years ago. Though one may argue, growing organic fuel sources for ICEs could be on par with electricity production options and overall pollution, but with organic grown combustible fuels the added benefit (potentially) is producing more breathable oxygen and potentially a high carbon exchange with net carbon emissions low. (potentially). It is my opinion organic combustible fuel product is a better path until battery power density is improved to be on par with current vehicle usage.

Fisker went belly up a few years ago, but Bob Lutz (of Viper and modern GTO fame) is LS swapping them…

I've been thinking about this thread some. If it ever came down to it, or it was reasonably affordable, I would definitely swap an electric drivetrain into any of my classics. I think it would be pretty cool.

    Interesting,
    High initial purchase price….. downer
    Limited range……. Downer
Severely limited range as it gets colder…. Downer
