I have a question on my fuel system. I was running a stage 1 mechanical pump with the stock 5/16 line to feed a 1000 cfm demon.

The car has 3:31's and seemed to run well 12.4 at 105 in the 1/4.

I now have upgraded to a 1/2" line, Magnaflow pump pulling off bungs I welded into the bottom of my stock tank.

Will I see much improvement in performance.

This may seem like a silly question but if the car was running good with the small lines, plugs looked good, etc., How will this help?

I did the upgrade since I have now went to 3:90 gears and I figured I would have more of a demand for fuel on the top end as I would be turning more RPM's at the end of the track.

    Thanks,

    Dennis

All a larger fuel line will do is eliminate or reduce a possible restriction.....if there is one. That depends on how efficient the pump works, any other restrictions you may have, and how much fuel the engine needs. It's good insurance against possible fuel starvation as you push the HP up.

If you have your combination dialed in correctly, and all the parts work well together, you may not feel any difference at all. If there is one, possibly only your ET slips or a dyno sheet will show it.

On the other hand, by making mods that will increase your rpm, now you've changed that dialed-in combination, and the larger fuel line could possibly make a difference you'll notice.

Yes this is what I gathered. With the taller gears I was never really under a long hard high end pull at big R's.

But now I will be spinning her longer and higher so I figured it was time to spend some $ for insurance.

    Thanks for the input!
