I guess I know that the answer probably is to have my carb rebuilt. My 69 riv hesitates coming off idle. It is fine and goes like hell in all other rpm ranges. Vacuum is 18 inches w.c.. so that looks good. Remember I have an electric fuel pump in the tank which is brand new - what pressure should I have at the carb inlet - I will test tonight. I didnt have problem before because the guy beform me had installed a remote electric pump under the hood which probably developed more pressure and hid the defects in the carb. Also, could it just be a problem with the filter thats in the carb?. The accerator pumps appear to work - I can see the little squirts when the pedel is depressed.

    Mike,
According to my 70 Chassis manual, the electric fuel pump should make 4 1/2 psi minumum at idle speed, and pump a pint of fuel in 30 seconds or less. Hope that helps.

Hey Larry, thanks for that info. Thats exactly what my pump put out. I didnt check the volume of fuel, but I think I'm satisfied that it is performing ok. Looks like carb rebuild time.
