Sounds like you are getting a bunch done. Ready for October!! Searching from your phone stinks.

Gessler's site has the AN Qjet fittings for you. Found some from Russell in a search.

im just trying to prepare for when i get faster. and im on here asking to make sure what im doing is safe. october is my goal mark. the guy with the shelby that barely beat me is going. time to get my revenge. its actually the same guy that me and my dad built the headers for on the rat rod. remember the pics? will it hurt to use 8an to the carb or just easier to move around?

Its great you ask questions it keeps your options open. When I get my cage redone I will have a diagnal crossbar put in so the backseat will have actsess (sp) from the passenger side.Swing out doorbars will be going in aswell.Check into Art Morrison the have good deal on kits I might buy one from them but I will still need some custom fabbing done.

thanks for the info. i planned on using everything but the door side bars but having the top bars to the front for safety.

id go with 1/2 from the back to the front that way when you want to go faster you dont have a bunch more money in bigger lines and fittings.

my thoughts exactly. any thoughts on my block of sheet for the trunk? got my half inch push lock stuff ordered today hopefully i get my fuel cell by next week that way i can get it done. shipping to and from ny takes a while though. had a deal in mass. that took a month almost. next will be wheel studs . ds loop and new ds and front end alignment and off to thunder valley!!

Anyone ever plumbed 1/2" or -8AN line directly to a Q-Jet? I know it can be done, but is it really necessary?

yeah take out the original inlet and where the inlet screws in i retapped that to 3/8 npt then i used the fitting that summit sells 3/8npt on one end -8 on the other the carb def needs to be off and apart though so you can clean it out after its retapped.

they also make a fitting so that you can just throw the old inlet in the trash. it has the -8 on one end and the right thread for the q-jet on the other.

Good job Lonnie. Keep up the good work. No you dont have to have the hood on to race. Ive seen lots of guys doing this, but there might be more drag on the car without it. Either way good luck to you.:TU:

Depending on what airfilter system you are using an open element needs a "fire stop" on the rear of the filter ( tin will work). If you remove the hood with the hindges it is easier to bolt back on as you don't have to re align the hood.At our track it was worth some et with it removed.

its a pin on and its my first track trip so i wanna be able to work with it easy since the only person to help me will be my girlfriend. thanks guys.
monday i just need to call summit and get a helmet ordered. and i should be good. didnt get to get my fuel cell mounted yet but once i do ill be a happy camper as the tank in the trunk now is held down with a ratchet strap. on my fuel cell it has a fitting up top and two on the sump. can i use the fitting on top for a vent or do i need a vent or is that a return only. do i need to put a rollover valve on the vent hose to be track legal.. at what point do you have to have a battery disconnect switch? i have one now but i just have it to keep the battery from driving because the gen light stays on and kills it. and i have it hooked to the positive and i know thats not right but i dont even know if i need one as slow as i will be going. hoping to get a low 13 first time out.

Lonnie the fitting on top of the cell should be a vent. If you have ur battery in the trunk then u will need the disconnect switch and have it properly marked. Have Fun!

Lonnie, you really need to get yourself a rule book to answer all of these questions.

Better to know upfront so you can plan rather than waste time and money going backwards because you had no info or wrong info.

what do you mean marked properly. on my rear firewall do i have to block the top too where speakers go? i plan on blocking it once i get some 6 by 9s. will have to do my wheel studs another day . got my fuel cell mounted today. trunk is nice and clean looking. anyone know of a good nhra battery box i could get cheap? mine is just a plastic marine style box with lid.

Lonnie what i meant is to have the disconnect switch marked in relation to on/off. Also Devon is correct, an NHRA rulebook is the best way of knowing what u need to pass tech and be safe before u start racing. Good luck!:TU:
