I need some seat trim for my new interior and everywhere I look all I can find is the smaller size A-body stuff. I am sure their is a market for this trim across all the full size GM brands.
Is the "A body trim" you are looking at repro? If so, that is why you are seeing a difference. We A body owners are in the same boat. Our origianl trim was (I'm almost positive) the same as yours. The repro sold for A bodies is too small.
I thought either CARS or Buick Farm had some NOS stuff. Could be wrong -- been a while since I looked into it. -- Steve
Seat Trim Hey Tom- 'Year One' or somebody doing Chevy/Olds/Nova stuff does seat backs and they have the chrome trim, or a reasonable facsimilie - (As the seat backs are generic GM). Have you tried contacting them? The metal ends that usually fall off & get lost could possibly sourced here too! After 35+ years my plastic has become very briitle and the thin shiny chrome mylar that is sandwiched in the plastic has become a flat dull silver. I tried some of the 'Chrome" rattle cans , but it just don't do it. Maybe we can all dig a little deeper into this? :beer
the stuff I was comparing it to was from "National Parts Depot". They make Chevelle parts, so I figured they would fit my Buick. Maybe Year One has a better part. I will check it out.
I checked my Year One Catelog and it say their stuff is slightly smaller than original but it looks good when installed. It must be the same stuff. I seriously didn't think it would work. I just didn't look right. I guess I should have tried to install it, but I hate the fact that it isn't the same as orignal. :af:
