I just picked up a 1970 Riviera. The gas gauge reads that it's always full now. When I turn the vehicle off the needle goes left till about half a tank. Any ideas out there? Thanks, gpm
there is most likely a break in the fuel gauge circuit. either your tank ground has gone south, your fuel gauge wire has gotten disconnected, there is a break in your fuel gauge wire, or a faulty connection in your cluster has developed. i think if it was a fuse, your gauge would not move at all. if the gauge wire was shorted to ground, your gauge would read empty with the key on. keep us posted. rotsa ruk!!
