The Texarkana car must be "everything the buyer expected", that's why he's trying to get rid of it already. He paid $14,600 plus shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110088906555 With a BIN of $17,000 he's not looking at much profit. Probably just trying to dump it.
I thought it was the same car. I wonder whats wrong with it? The black car has been on Ebay at least twice. Looks like a nice car. Im guessing the seller wants more than the market will bear for it. I wouldnt give it away either
I had it on ebay last summer and the "winning bidder" was out to conduct identity theft. As it turns out, during that time frame he was the winning bidder on about 10 other cars. He tried to get my banking info when he claimed he was going to do a wire transfer. It is deffinately a nice ride, and you're right, I am not giving it away. ...Just looking for fair market value.
Except for the color, our cars are optioned almost identically.:beer With Ebay these days, its a 50/50 shot that the seller with follow through with the sale. I had to list a car three times before I got a legitimate buyer.
This is the second time I posted it on ebay. Both times I accidently listed it without posting it under Skylark. I was told it is hard to find when searching ebay through Motors and then catagory. o No:
I picked up a nice 67 GS 400 pretty cheap because it was mislisted and had no reserve...in New Hampshire of course...Live Free Or Die!
Do you think the yellow car is real? It seems a little far fetched. Any ideas on whether or not its real? If it is, I guess Ill be taking out a loan
Yes the yellow car (70 GS 455 4 spd bench seat) is for real. AReed represented it accurately when he sold it to my customer. Numbers match with exception of replacement block which is a correct number 455 '70 block. Original block and crank are in trunk and go with the car. Needs brakes, exhaust. Body is very straight with only a couple of very minor dings. Appears to have been Sherwood Green originally. New owner purchased it with intention of restoring it to show quality but has decided at this time to focus on an "Eleanor" type Cobra project instead. His right, his choice, though I prefer the Buicks as opposed to a Ford project. Anyway, his decision could benefit those interested. Car was not supposed to be posted with a buy it now but was mistakenly done so. Again, to your benefit. If I had the money I would for sure buy it as it presents a real opportunity for an easy restoration of a rare '70 GS455 4spd.
Not sure, in fact I was tempted to have it tested via cleaned, magnafluxed etc. to see what if anything was wrong with it. It is very possible that a previous owner may have had something esle wrong with the engine and was in the position to swap out the motor faster or cheaper rather than dealing with whatever was going on at the time. I do know that the previous owner had quite a few Buicks and this may very well have been the scenario. Proof would be in having this block tested by a quality engine shop and we very well may do just that.
