    Wow.

That's a blast from the past. Haven't thought about that for a while.

If I remember right, I think Lonnie Diers did the first one over 20 yrs ago. It's been awhile.

Awesome. I've thought about this but never really looked at what would be involved. Seems like a much better way to go.

Looks custom! but what exactly is the benefit if stock pump & gear /cover setup is functioning fine?

A Rover cover does the same thing with no welding required. Just gotta get the right one.

More efficient and no distributor/cam wear. The guy who did the conversion had 40lbs oil pressure warm at 600RPM idle with 10-30 oil. He said he had around 60 on the Freeway and about 80 at 6000RPM's.

    If you can find one.

I looked into this yrs ago, and I believe there is only one year(or was it 2?) that Rover made a front cover that had both the gerotor oil pump AND a distributor hole. The next year, they went distributorless ignition.

Very hard to find over here, and if you do, very expensive.

Being the crank is turning the pump is spins twice as fast as the distributor driven pump ( turns camshaft speed)
Plus the crank runs it, no goofy side loading.
Plus the gerotor is more efficient than spur gears
