As if I wasn't already amazed enough about Gregs car.... I was looking at the timeslip database, and Greg's car seems so oddly out of place if you sort by 1/4 mile ET, and compare his data with the cars surrounding him. SLOW 60' time - 1.74 (comparable with a low 12 second car?) HUGE MPH - 122 (comparable with a mid 10 second car?) Man, that is awesome! That is tuning tuning tuning, driving driving driving at it's best right there. I'd love to see that car run against a "regular" 11.37 car. That would make for one strange looking race. :TU: :beer
I just read the Hot Rod article on Dave Dudeks' Hemi. He says he only does 1.90 60 fts. Both of these guys have a real charge at the top end. Of course my 60 ft is a 2.20 (stock converter) so what do I know. What it shows is the talent of these guys.
That's what you get when you have more power than traction. It is the same effect Bracket Racers go for except they use a different approach.(Throttle Stop/Timers,Less than optimum gear/converter,Etc.) Greg's result is a reflection on the tires he has to run. 12/13 second-like 60's and 10 second-like MPH and the ET lands right in the middle. I'm very impressed at the trap speed,I never thought a SA appearing Buick could MPH like that. Compliments to Greg and his ability to tune.......Alot of Buick guys should ''take note''-It doesn't take alot of "Glamourous'' parts to go fast,Just USE what you have. Just some perspective on the MPH and 60's I had my old Green Car running 11.20/.30's at ONLY 116 (1.47-1.50 60'). Then with a different Motor,10.60/.70's at 123 (1.39-1.43 60') So there's Greg's MPH and ET in 2 different combo's I've run and even more to point Greg's hard work and the embarrassment his Car could cause some "Racecars". To your accomplishments Greg:TU:
Gary, I'm thinking your HP is wrong. (275?) If not... you must have a <s>very</s> <b>VERY</b> light car!
