The Explorers typically come with a 3.27, 3.55, 3.73 or 4.10 gear ratio.....3.73 being the most common in the yards. If you were looking in the yards for a donor axle, the open rears will be axle codes 41-46. The TracLoc version (posi) will be codes D1-D4. Off the top of my head, D2 is a 4.10 and D4 is 3.73. You can find the axle codes listed on the driver's door jamb, in the lower right corner of the white sticker. Of course, if you're going new - none of that matters.
