I couldn't find anybody either.......I think it's some envirnmental thing. I had some parts done in gold zinc I think it was and it looks the same to me. The place is now out of business.....tough business I guess. I know I wouldn't want to have to be subject to all those hazardous waste regulations.:bglasses:

Yeah gold cadmium is illegal in several states and going that way up here too...gold cad is very toxic.

I had posted a thread earlier asking about all this because apparently GM stopped using gold cadmium in the early-mid 60's on everything but the vette. Nobody can confirm or deny this but hey zinc dichromate is so close nobody knows the difference anyway (the hardcore guys will but they will also understand why you didn't use gold cad).

I did my booster and several smaller parts in zinc dichromate and they turned out awesome, pics on website.

I will be doing a run of gold cad plating this winter for people that want their hood latches done. If you can wait, I can include your pieces also with the batch. PM me if you're interested and what exactly you'd like to get done. I already have done the disc brake parts for someone else last run. I don't think he can do a booster though as that has to come apart to do properly I was told.

Phillip, is that real gold cad or is it something else?? I've discovered that "gold cad" has become a generic term for anything that color....so a lot of places if you drop it of and say I want gold cad you actually get zinc dichromate back.

Just curious, not knocking anyone....seriously, anyone who wants to really add some zing to their car should get their parts replated, it makes a world of difference. And I have been told that gold cad is incorrect anyway for our 70-72 cars,w ish someone could clarify that as i can't find any info in the books anywhere.
