Oh yeah. This isn't my first rodeo on the interweb. I post at AR15.com regularly as well as several bike sites. You can bet I've seen the flame wars over those 2 subjects. :eek2: Life is too short to let the internet get ya riled up.

    Yep.

I have 4 Harleys and 1 Indian now. A couple of dirt bikes as well. Horses are nice, but they wouldn't like my back yard. You just gotta get back on them if you fall off. Back on the subject, my guy here called me today. He's offered me a "built" 300 or a 425 nailhead for a very nice price of $200 for either. Also has a 3spd tranny or a 4spd manual. I believe either motor to be ready to bolt in and run. I have the powerglide behind my v-6 currently. I'm tempted to go 425 and 3 spd auto as it'd be easier than retro fiting the 4 speed manual. What are your thoughts?

    Welcome to our addiction

Grab up that 425 like the last cold one in the tub of ice in the middle of the Summer.

You can't go wrong with the 425 and the Switch Pitch 3 speed. Very easy installation but you will be needing a posi rear real soon. :3gears:

Don't let the nailhead guys fool 'ya, just go out and find yourself a cheap but nice 455 big block buick motor, make it fit, hook everything up and you're on your way to having about the most fun w/ a car that you'd never had before! :bglasses: :3gears: Even a small block 350 buick motor would make that car move pretty easily. :TU:

In all seriousness though, welcome to the board! :Comp: I would snatch up a 401 nailhead to put in that engine bay. It'd give a nostalgic touch to your car and yet give you the performance of it's more powerful brother, the '65 GS. :Brow:
