taking a test run on my new th-350 This big boat beastly looking thing either a caddy or an olds was in the right lane.. This is an interstate so we had plenty of room. Already doing 45 we both punched it [him before me] I yanked ahead half a car length then something blasted open on his car [with 4inch exhaust] and just tore asss past me doing 90 .. I had my car wide open oover 110mph and still climbing rapidly he's just getting smaller and smaller.. He was slowing down to take the furnace branch rd exit and waved to me .. I slowed down to ask him what the hell... He said its a 472... "it's a bada$$ rocknroller ain't it" here's a pic of the beast that got me. looked kinda like this but it seemed alot larger.. and he said it had the original 472 not a 394. http://www.ev1.pair.com/59olds/olds-1.html
You may know this already.......a 472" would be a Caddy engine, while the 394" is an old school Olds engine. Both are very strong engines!! The 394" can be bored & stroked a ton......+/- 500 Cubes!!
Err, by "smoked" we usually mean "beat in a race", not "filled their passenger compartment with diesel fumes"
A 350 getting beat by a car like that is nothing to be ashamed of. If I had to get beat I wouldn't mind if it's by a car like that.
Getting smoked by something that beautiful would have me buying the driver a beer. Nothing to be asahmed of. Going through Regina SK a few months ago, spotted a nice 59 olds convert on a flat deck, probably just out of paint. Nice cars. :TU:
im sorry guys this was the type of car it was.. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2267274 Except he obviously had some mods done ...like a lincoln like bumper spare tire LOL Front fender louver vents with ghost flames and a white vynil top. 4 inch exhaust side by side right under the licence plate.
Those Caddy's are heavy cars but the 472's are mean hopped up. I can see why you got taken since he stomped on it going 45. One may be fast but there's always something out there that's faster.
Did you see that guy's website? It's like the coolest one I've ever seen! And he's got some toys too... :beer http://www.ev1.pair.com/59olds/olds-1.html
We've got 5 of those in our salvage yard right now, 1 472 and the rest are 500's. One runs as is, the others are forgotten projects, good drivetrains, bad rust. The one that runs we took it out and it hauled ass, biggest fleetwood I've ever been next to. Rizy as hell too, loaded, limo style in the back. Did a burn out from a stand still almost a block long, posi to boot. Wierd feeling getting all snakey in a boat that big. I already had a 500 before these, wasnt to much in a hurry to do anything with it until I drove this one, now I'm looking for a decent 80's malabu shell to stuff it into :3gears: hyway posi gears with 550 ft tourque.....It'll be so fast I'll be able to see my future. Except for tickets. ou:
