THANK YOU Terry & Dave for an great event at a great facility.

I was a bit disappointed with the traction but that is to be expected when it's overcast & cold.

I always have a great time at the Martin event. Even when the car is not right and I am trying to sort it out as I did friday when I put 19 runs on the fresh engine. Still didn't get it sorted out but had a blast.

One thing that always surprises me is the lack of participants. Most likely it's do to other committments on the home front and the economy right now. An even bigger surprise is the lack of spectators which really floors me. I have never been able to get a good handle on this. With the quality of the facility, the location and the event, the stands should be much fuller than they are.

I hope you are able to find a way to at least 1 event next year.

Thats what i was meaning bruno, I dont think the fall racers could pick up that much slack. To make up for 60 more people. I'm paying for 3 people now.$110 x3= $330. $330x3=$990!!! I AM willing to pay more but has to realistic. And was there a single FAST racer there supporting there own event?

I would love the event to continue, it's another chance to have fun with friends. Super nice facility, VERY accomidating to let us camp and Party there. Brian and I have checked with Milan before (I beleive Petcou did to) they just wont cut much of a deal or alot private days. They want to run regular programs with us and I don't think they'd let the shinanagins we do go on either.

    Terry,Dave , and Greg
I do hope for the best, thank you for all you have done. And hope atleast one of the races survive.

As one of the participants last weekend, I would like to thank Terry and everyone involved with organizing the race.
It seems the local weather forecast was keeping a lot of the local people away. We drove from the Indianapolis area Thursday afternoon and just took a chance the weather would hold out.
Is it also possible the event wasn't talked about enough here and other websites to build excitement? Or maybe it's that people can't afford to do many of these?
I know events have to be financially viable and hopefully at least the June event can continue.

Yes 131 is an awesome facility but I would rather see the event move to a lesser track instead of disappearing.

Keep in mind turnout could be in a low cycle right now with rebound coming.

Had the yellow car not been hurt and no time to fix from last October Martin I'd have been there and plan on not sitting out 2012.

There are others not planning on sitting out another year as well.

This would include me for Martin, Stanton, and any other events that are close enough.

I don't know what I'm building yet, or where I'm going to get the money to build it, but I plan on racing something for the 2012 season, and I don't plan on missing ANY of the races:Smarty:

I have to agree with Brian.....The Martin event(last weeks race), just seemed like an after thought this year from the standpoint of not being discussed very much prior to the event(no hype), no early registration, no new post topics showing pre-registered entries, etc.??? It just seems like that alone may have hurt turnout(other than the weather).

Nothing draws a crowd, like a crowd. Pre-registration updates seem to get people more interested when they can see how many other people are going.
Then again, the damn economy sure hasn't helped either, but I believe(hope) 2012 will be a big turn around year for the economy.

Just my opinion as one struggling american supporting a 4 person household on about 65-70% of what I made prior to 2008.

Terry, If you guys run in October next year, I'll promise to show up with the '57. I'd planned to come this year but I just plain FORGOT the date.

Have not missed a race until this year and was due to Mary Ann's illness. I also know Richard Poe would have been there except he kept getting the wrong axle (even after sending them a sample the second time) to replace the one he broke in Stanton.

Steve V. would have been there except his motor broke on Wednesday night.

I'm sure all of us plus Chuck Kern and maybe another Stude or two will be there in the future and we might be able to entice a few new brand X people to show up.

Thanks to Terry, Dave and all that work so hard to put this on. Hopefully the economy will improve so give us another shot at it along with a little more publicity and I'll bet the attendance will be up.

Broken crank kept me away. The answer is car count!! It appears that fast is dead, or circling the drain at the very least, why not add a nostalgia class. The cars must be old school drag cars that are lettered up, like Rinke's and larry's amx cars,or thunderbolts, super stock or stock cars, they can run as exhibition class or even grudge match races. Milan has the nostalgia drags and draws a good race. The fans would really enjoy it, and it would be easy to tell the difference.

That would be awesome a nostalgia, know quit a few people with old factory drag cars that arn't competive in superstock anymore who would love something like this. Keep it in mind Terry my dads got 2 sitting ready to go. :TU:

I did not have the car at the 2011 Martin race this year because of the national Impala convention in Kalamazoo. The cost of fuel and a room ment I had to pick one spring event. I was at Stanton and I am planning on being at all the 2012 events. My problem with the Oct event was that it crossed up with a Hockey Tournament in Holland .. Unfortunately after the end of September my focus has to shift to Travel Hockey ..
