GS hood scoops

I want to get your input on this GS hood scoop I've been working on. I used the same mold material that Jon use to make his 71 grill. I pulled the mold off a hood section from a damaged GS hood I purchased off of ebay. It is solid fiberglass so that the tip don't break off and a better way to attach it to the hood. The grill inserts are something I make real quick out of plexi glass. I am still thinking of other ways to make the inserts.
So let me know what you think?

VFN Fiberglass lists 70-72 GS scoops on their website for $60.
They don't have a picture, and I've never seen them, so I have no idea what they look like or how nice they are.

    Regarding your scoop....
I'm no bodyman by any means, but I think your scoop would be hard to attach and make look good.
Especially the 2 "spears" in the front.
Maybe they should be connected to each other (fill in the void between them) so you're attaching a "square" piece to the hood?

    Just a thought :Do No:

It looks great though! That stuff looks like fun to work with. I'm talking myself out of buying the materials. Geeze, if I had that to play around with I'd never get anything else done.

Right now I am working on the other side and I hope that I can use the factory grills. Also figure out a way to attach them to the hood. I was thinking of using 3M Panel Bond to adhere it to the hood, then use Duraglass to feather the edges.
I will post some picture as soon as I can .

1967 Big Buick One day at a time.

3M Panel adhesive is a good ideal but one of the 3M repesentives told me that due to the fact that the fiberglass and the adhesive will expand and contract it " isn't " a good ideal.

You will see the outline in the finish once you get one of those hot 95 degree days. Cause metal doesn't expand and contract as fast!
I recommend using good old fiberglass resin to bond it to the hood. Did one for a lady about 9 years ago and it is still holding strong with no cracks or lifting.

    Food for thought.
