I'll be switching away from the stock style air cleaner and to a drop based open element since I'm going to use a spacer on top of my S-Divider. What are people doing to block off the scoops? I don't want it to be perminant, but the car will be driven in the rain and I'd really like to keep the rain water off of my engine as much as possible.

Is there any quick, cheap, and easy way? Or should I just avoid the rain?

I have a set of scoops for a 70 that have a block off plate in them. It is such a great job, it looks like it should have been factory installed.

Can you tell how its attached? Was the grill part removed and replaced by a solid piece of plastic? Or was it attached behind the grill?

Looks like a piece of tin was put on the back side. Here is a pic.

Thanks Carl  That helps. I'll have to take them off and see what I can rig up.
