OK, I've had my car since 97 and the Pearl White just doesn't come clean anymore. So probably this fall I will finally succumb to a new interior. Well that has me thinking, should I go black??? Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I've ever seen another Platinum Mist, white top, white interior on the board. Love the white but such a PITA to keep clean!!! Granted my interior is at a point wer it won't come clean so something new is the best answer. Am I ruining it by going black top, black interior???
I vote for white - keeps cooler in the summer time and even though it is more difficult to keep clean I look the contrast against other exterior colors better than a black interior.
Do you use Westleys bleach white on the interior I have brought a few white interiors back with that and 409 and a med to soft scrub brush
My 70 is the same combo. It was an original black top car. But I didn't like the heat of the black. I am now considering changing the interior to black due to up keep of interior. PS I love your car!
John, I don't think there is a product out there I haven't tried!!! I don't want to put covers on the seats like I see some do with white, heck I even quite wearing jeans in the car!!
With that color combination there is no way I would change the interior color. The car is beautiful. Changing the int color would just be bringing it down a couple of notches. Duane
Personally, I'd leave it like it is. Mine had a white interior and if it wasn't for me getting the front and rear seats of an '08 Pontiac G6 for so cheap I'd have reupholstered it white. The white top/interior with the Platinum is awesome.
I'd go with white. The covers will be brand new and look great for a long time. I have white in mine and they are turning yellow as they age. (I think they are original). My car is red with a white vinyl top. If I ever do it over it will be white again. Mike D.
Yeah I know, I'm in the minority, I do not like white interior. I can get along with an off white, but to me a pure white interior is not attractive at all. I had a 66 SS 396 4spd Chevelle red with white bucket interior. I bought it soon after I started working for the C&O railroad in 1967 building and rebuilding hopper cars which mostly were used for hauling coal, you know that was before they made the "clean coal" you hear spouted about so much today. It was impossible to keep the SS interior clean and drive it to work. I put clear seat covers that were popular at the time, didn't work. That turned me against white interior. The car would've looked so much better if the interior had been black. So I traded it for a '62 Corvette FI maroon with black interior. The only thing an 18 year old missed after the trade was the back seat:Brow: .
I like the white top & interior - sets your car apart. Try "magic sponges" on your white interior - they do work magic.
I cast my vote for other than white! Once you are going to get rid of all that white interior stuff, send me a PM, I call dibs on those white door pulls, trim, ya, basically everything! KFD
The white top and white interior are very distinct, and everone with a black vinyl interior knows just how hot they can get in the summer season. Replace it if you must, but keep it white !! :TU:
Keep it white, it looks good on it. Those Mr. Clean magic eraser sponges work great to keep it clean.
