These are random pictures from another person selling a true stage 1 body shop issue gone wrong. The red car has been on his listing in the past. when trying to reach him I was unable so be careful.
My understanding (if it's the same car) is the '71 Stage 1 is (was?) a matching numbers car if the guy would sell everything together & someone was willing to collect whatever is missing & put it together. Edit: Confirmwd it's the same car I was thinking of & according to someone familiar w/it, it's a numbers matching Stage 1. Individual parts prices seem high but if he'd take $10k for everything, might not be a bad deal.
That was my understanding as well from a friend of the owner's I spoke w/today - That he's gone back & forth. Seems to me for $10-12k if it's really a rust-free (or even if any bodywork was well done) that it's be a decent deal & a bonus if the paint could be matched - I'd be interested @ that price if I had the time/space/$ (i.e. I already have too many projects!).
The paint is a mess... it had nuclear fallout from what I can see...needs to be stripped to metal I'm betting
The seller has zero interest in selling the car complete. When I inquired he got huffy and blocked me.
Most anyone would be willing to sell complete. It would be a lot easier and quicker. Sounds fishy especially if parting out a rust free shell . Could be stolen ?
His reply made no sense to me. He first said something about his reasoning for not selling complete was that he owned two GSXs (which seemed like a non sequitur statement to me) and then he blocked me.
