This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy.. Just send an email to me at jim@trishieldperformance.com and I will verify your registration. This policy will remain in effect indefinitely, as it has completely eliminated the bad actors from our site, who would spam and hack it, once they gained access. Thanks JW

GSCA Restoration Clinic

Every year we have a restoration clinic at the GS Nationals. We often ask for a restored car to be displayed there so we can go over it and answer questions that people have regarding originality and/or correct painting, etc.

Well, I have had a request to have an original paint, drivetrain, etc. "survivor car" to be displayed this year. These cars are very important, as they are the "baseline" that we use to restore our cars. You can't get better information then looking at an original car. Maybe we could get a restored car, that is also the same year/model to sit along side it to see the differences. It would be pretty interesting.

Anyway, I wanted to know what you guys think, and to find out what "survivor" cars will be at this years GS Nationals, so we know what we have to pick from. If there is enough interest I could do this during the day, somewhere at the track, so we could see everything easier. Then later we could also discuss this at the Resto Clinic. It would be nice if we could get a few different examples for display.

We could also do this at the BPG Nationals this year in Salem Ohio.

Let me know what you think.

Boy I hope you will do that at Quaker State too. I made that suggestion on the BPG Board along with another to have Dennis Manner give a talk on the development of the 455 series engines. His slide show at Flint was great.

Went to one of your clinics at BG year before last where the guy with the GSX on the side of his trailer had his x as the car example.

GREAT idea, Duane! It's amazing the things yo learn when you go to see an original, unmolested vehicle. Let's do it in Salem for sure!:TU:

    Jim & Cole,
I have no problem with doing this in Salem as well as at BG. All I need is a scheduled time and a large enough place to do it in.

For that matter, you tell me where and when, and we can do the same thing at Carlisle or at some other show.
