Payouts! Thanks to Dan Rocco for spearheading these payouts. Winner: Pete Van Tholen is putting up 500.00 cash from his company TRUCK WORKS ,in Brookfield Illinis! Runner Up: Dan Rocco and ADVANTAGE TRAILER in Carol Stream Illinois is throwing in 4 225/75/R15 load range E trailer tires, and a set of car tie-down straps! Same format as last year. All past GSE/GSP racers and cars welcome in any configuration. Long smokey burnouts and wheels up launches will be the norm. We should see some new entries this year, and maybe even a wagon or two. Anyone interested in running the class feel free to chime in here!
GSR was a GS class formed to combine the old GSE and GSP classes due to consistenty low turnout in those classes. It is for all old GSE and GSP cars no matter what configuration they are in now. Also welcome are all other GS's that are more modified than would be allowed in BSA. Headers, aftermarket wheels, aftermarket blocks, racing seats, big carbs, nitrous, blowers, turbos, narrowed rears and tubs, fiberglass, multiple carbs etc are all welcome. The rules are purposefully very loose to create car count. The format of running the class on a .400 pro tree, bracket style is exciting, creates close competition, and allows any performance level to compete. The driver is very much a part of the game. You get two qualifiers on race day, and your quickest et is your dial in for ALL of eliminations and breaking out isnt allowed.
Yes it does. The two GS/Skylark only classes have a history at the Nationals dating back to the beginning. They are the only two classes restricted to these body styles. GS/Skylark/GS/Apollo bodies.
Thanks! Fresh out of Skylark race cars for now. I do understand the bracket racing format. I run open comp or 7.50 whenever I go to the track.
