What Paint Works Best For Semi Gloss Black And Does It Look Better To Have The Red Free Handed On ? Do People Want The Factory Defect On The Quarter Panel Back On The Car?

There are a bunch of posts on this topic in archive somewhere. I believe its just a matter of how much flattner to add to the black to be honest. A stencil kit is available for the stripes.I believe the supplier is called Phoenix Graphics or something like that. Unless you are planning concours competition the factory defect is unessessary IMHO.

    Black Epoxy Primer?

I asked the old man at the local paint store this question, and he said some painters are now spraying the black stripes on cars with black epoxy primer. He said it is OK to put it on top of the base/clear coat, and is much easier to take care of and very durable. I am not a painter, nor do I profess to know anything about the products, but the idea sounded good enough to me that I am going to suggest it to my painter when he stripes my car.

Has anyone else heard of this? :Do No:

A person would not want to use an epoxy anywhere that it's exposed to sunlight, as it has no UV protection and will chalk out and eventually become non moisture resistant.

That would suck! :Dou: Maybe only the "Trailer Queen" type of car could use it then. Thanks for the info! :TU:
