GSX vs a couple Rice Rockets

Had some fun in the GSX today with a couple rice rockets. In my opinion, both of them should have considered giving me a little head start since this just might be the only GSX with 2 kid car seats in the back..un-occupied for this story obviously:TU: . I do nail-it a little when the kids are in the car just to tickle their tummies, but would never race with them in the car.

So, Im at a stop light that has two lanes and Im in pole position at the right hand lane, each lane is 2-3 cars deep. A new Honda Interceptor pulls up in the middle through the cars, so hes right next to me. His helmet and my ugly mug are only about 5ft apart.

Light turns green. He jumps out to get ahead of the cars like Im sure he has done many times in this same situation, I also do the same since I have MT ET Streets.

    :Comp:

Heres the best part of this story. weve only gone about 20 or 30ft and his helmet turns and looks right at me.his helmet and my ugly mug are at most 5ft apart.. now, since most of you have had many street races, from the time he and I take off to when he looks at me its only been about a second-ish, at this exact moment we both NAIL it and surprisingly enough were even, then I actually pull a little. When I say I little, like 2ft and this is when Im still in 1st and at about 5000rpms. It wasnt until after that until he made up the 2ft and started to pull a little on me.

I only went thought first, let off before shifting to 2nd, we were out of road, cars ahead and I was simply going to the gym. Well.. he turns into the same place Im going and Im thinking. This is cool, well get to laugh about having a little fun and talk shop. But no. he parks his bike, then I park the GSX, hes about 50yds ahead of me. I walk fast to try and catch up, but he keeps his helmet on and will have nothing to do with me oh well

Feeling good I use my droid and search for Honda Interceptor specs, I see that those bikes do 11.22s at 119mph. so I m feeling really good that my almost 4000lb beast was right with him and actually pulled a little. Ya, thats right, dont mess with Big Block Buicks!!!!

Ummmm.. now, fast forward to when I leave the gym. Im at another light and I think it was a VFR600, no idea what year, looked new. He lifts up his shield, says hey man, love your buick, sounds great and nice car.

Since earlier I was able to compete with the Interceptor, I first said Thank you very much for the compliment, I appreciate it. I then said, lets see if I can keep up with you he said. ya, Im in. and again said he loved my car.

Light turns green, we both jump out even for the first 10-15ft, I then nail it and so does he.. for about a second were even, then he starts pulling away like a rice rocket should when I shift to second, hes about a full car length ahead of me and pulling. Not a lot, but still pulling away like a rice rocket should

The moral of this story.. when you engage with someone who REALLY knows how to ride their Bike be humble

    Ciao

Back when I had a 96 Honda Magna (Not super Fast 12.7ish quarters) the only car that ever pulled away from me in 10 years was a mid year Corvette. Must of had a big block 427

It takes a very quick car to even hold their own against just about any bike, let alone pull on one.

Drive Safe, have fun doing so
