Heat Wrap

    I was perusing through ebay skylarks and noticed one that had the fuel line coming up from the pump heat wrapped. Was that ever factory or just a good idea or even necessary.? Car was stock otherwise.

    My buddy has a chevelle/454, it produces so much heat from the engine he would get fuel percolating until he wrapped his fuel line from the pump to carb. He even had a 1” phenolic spacer.

    Yes it’s not uncommon and may or may not be needed to prevent boiling the fuel on hot days.
