    Hi all!
This seems to be very nice information forum for buick cars and i have been reading topics for awhile now...and now i had the courage to register in here.

At this point i have to warn you all...my english typing isn't so great but i understand your writing pretty well. :spank: Sorry about that and hope you understand my typing!

I'm quite new in V8 engines/cars but i have liked the V8 engines/American cars for long time now...never had a chance befor now possessing V8 car.

In my understanding this forum have others from finland too?

I'm going to ask very stupid and obvious questions here...so please tolerate me! :bla:

Ah! sorry guys... my name is Markus...i put that to my signature. And thanks for encouraging posts. Happy to be here.

My first question for all of you: Does anyone use Stinger S-4 ignition anymore over there, and does anybody have some manuals etc. for it?

I am planning to upgrade my ignition to MSD Digital Programmable 6AL-2
    6530

and i have allready bought that box. Does anybody have some experience, problems etc. whit this box? Love to see some curves from those who has it!

In here it's not so popular if i've understud right my local dealer...hi hasn't ever heard of it when i ordered the box and hi tells me it's firts one ever ordered from MSD

Second question for now: How much power can 8,5" rear and th400 take?

Those are my questions for now...:) time to go sleep...clock is now 01:34 when typing this post!

Let's see if all finish members can find this thread!

Q "Second question for now: How much power can 8,5" rear and th400 take?"

Answer: More than you will likely ever throw at it unless maybe you go to a turbo charger and really get wild. Just look at the size of the input shaft on a TH 400.

Jim: Ok, so no worries at tranny and rear then.

James: Thanks, nice to hear that.

Ray: Thanks for the link...it's useful.

My knowledge and experience at my engine is what my brother has told me. Car belonged to him for years before hi gived to me. And hi don't remember everything what has done for the engine. I only now fallowing things:

    -70 GS Buick 455 cid 0.030 over.
    Ported and lowered stock heads.
    Stock manifold whit some modifications.
    TA C113 cam.
    TA 2012 headers
    Holley 800cfm carb. (4011)
Stinger S-4 ignition and stock dizzy
    TH400 whit switchpitch.
10 bolt 8,5" 3.73 rear whit lock (or what do you call it?)
those modifications has been made 1995.

So i've got some learning to do here. My brother says it's got about 400HP (not tested only estimated)

I probably better ask my questions at the right places here and not use this one, or?

Asking questions here is fine. When you know your way around the board better you can ask questions in the other forums. I'm sure you will find this is a friendly, helpful and informative forum.

Switch pitch transmission is very cool. The factory Dynaflow transmission in my '55 Roadmaster also has variable pitch torque converter.

Hahahah, thanks guys for the warm welcome :TU:

Yes i'l like also switchpitch(thanks for my brother!) it's fun to play whit.
My car has a switch to ON/OFF position.

I will the drop my question bomb's over here for now!

    1. I have purchased Holley Street Avenger 0-80870 carb and with that Mr.Gasket 1932 adapter. And whit them i also bought edelbrock 9266 divided heat insulator...now because i have stock spreadbore intake manifold, i have to put adapter first, adapter second and carb for last. Is this order going to be an problem? I was wondering if divider going to be an problem? Intake has divider, adapter doesn't, heat insulator has it, so in betveen carb and intake divider has a gap.

    2. What cars are sister models to my car? what bodyparts fits to my car. In here it's very dificult get body parts for 75 century. Seperate front seats, center console, Power steering pump braket <---braket is important! etc.

    3. What ignitions you guys have today in your cars? Does anyone have any experience at MSD 6530 ignition box or do you now somebody maybe has the box? How about MAP sensor, do you use it for your engines and what can i do whit it at my box? (i did type some questions in MSD forum but didn't get any straigth answer to my question) :( , What spark plugs i should use with this ignition? Now i have AC delco R45TSX plugs

    4. Is there any bolt on turbo headers for Buick? Anyone using procharger on their engines?

5.What else....hmm...that's it for now!
