Sorry I didn't follow protocall when I signed up a few weeks ago and post on " wet behind the ears " Im from Beulah, ND. I have owned my 71 GS for 24 years, just sold my 67 GS 400 a few years back, owned that one for over 20 years, bought it from the 2nd owner and now his son who was just a little guy when I bought from him owns it and is in the process of doing a frame off resto, makes me feel good I was a help in this all original muscle getting back on the road and staying an all numbers matching car. Should have my 71 on the road this year as well. Its been garaged for 24 years with a blown engine, after a divorce, and 5 kids later its just me and the new wife and she said get it done, don't have to tell me twice. Happy to be here. :TU:

Welcome aboard Dennis! I'm surprised it took so long to see you here, now the bad news is that from this point forward your going to be addicted to this forum. BTW-That '67 you sold is getting real close to getting a new power plant, I'm waiting on back ordered ARP rod and main bolts and Doug will be able to finish the machining. Probably another two weeks.....YIPEE!!

Thanks Louie, Ryan is doing a excellent job of restoring this car and I couldn't be happier he ended up with it, we laugh about how his dad sold the car to me but I just about had to pry the keys out of his hand after the sale and now 20 some years later it comes back into the family. I wish I could find some of my old muscle and classics from the younger days, 65,67,68 GTO, 67 Special, 65 impala SS, 69 Camaro, 57 Chev 210 wagon, way to long to list all. But I still have the 71 and am glad I do, its been a long road to hang onto this car but it will be worth it all when I get to drive it again this year.

What options are on the 71?

It came with factory A/C, P/S, PDB, sport mirrors, and side trim. Added tilt and buckets with console and in dash tach and rallye gauges and 3:42 posi. Just a 350 car. Had the body and paint done 20 years ago but has been garaged all this time so that part is still good to go, front clip is off so going to do a front end rebuild while eveything is out in the open. Color is a burnt orange with black vinyl top. Will post pics when it comes together, hope this spring or mid summer.

Drive the '67 huh?.......I'll have to think about that one!:bla: It's hard to say exactly when it will be done, I'm hoping late summer but no guarantees. We'll definitely have to cruise and maybe hit a show or cruise night to see the reactions of the locals when they see their first Buick GS's. Let me know when you're down here next and l can surely show you the 67. Now that you're a new member I can also tell you about the V8Buick hazing rituals.

Ed, I was always told it was the Fargo group that was the rough bunch, thats why I moved from Bismarck to beulah, it gave me another 70 miles distance.

It looks good, he said he put the bigger sprag and some other mods in it so we will see, he does these 400's in his sleep already so I have faith in his work. Just got my 3:42 posi from board member Monzaz last week so I am ready now to put the whole thing together and see some cruising time this summer.

Good point Todd. I've heard his stories about his driving in his "younger days", after hearing that I'm afraid to drive on the same streets as him let alone let him drive my car!
