I like the patina look, leave the outside like that and do a mint restoration on the rest of the car :bglasses:
Yeah the patina is thanks to years of sitting in an apartment complex parking lot in the good old southeastern US weather for many years. It would certainly be easier to leave it this way because I can't find any fenders, doors, hood or bumpers for this car, is no one reproducing them? The only pars I have found is in the OPGI parts catalog.
Welcome pal . As far as the patina on ur sweet gem there, iI'd say go for it like the Vegas Rat Rod guys and seal that rust under some clear and restore the interior and mechanics, then drive and enjoy . If ur a Chevy guy, wait till u feel the grunt force of 610lbs of torque under ur foot!! Most small block Chevy guys never knew what they've been missing.
You bought that on craigslist a few months ago right? It popped up and I just wasn't fast enough to get it. I'm down in wilmington and have 2 buicks here and another at my parents house in chapel hill. What parts are you looking for? I might be parting out my 72 GS, and I've got quite a few parts leftover from a 71 I parted out a few years ago along with random stuff I've picked up along the way
I need a right side front fender, front and rear bumpers and interior panels (black) and back seat armrest ashtray for right now. This was for DirtySouth72. Thanks! Buddy
Yeah I did get it off craigslist and I'm starting to wish maybe you would have been a little faster on the draw! jk I really like the car but just had no idea the parts were so hard to come by? I just finished restoring two Chevy's and they were a piece of cake compared to the Buick's as far as parts go! I need a right front fender, black interior panels, headliner and a back seat armrest ash tray. I you happen to have any of this stuff please let me know.
